So DG you think this Vinny thing might actually have legs this time? It actually made the 6 o'clock news. No real confirmation, however the "official" word from the team is that no player is safe.

Is it July 1st yet. If he makes it till then, then his No Movement Clause will kick in. Like that would stop the going to Montreal rumors. EE had a blog earlier that is from Lawson that says they haven't even talked to Montreal and about no player being safe even Vinny was blown out of context. He said that Vinny is a player you want to build around not trade for a bunch of up and comings that may not work out. I think that maybe the legs are here cause of all the other crazy stuff the organization has done since it has taken over. I'm a toss up if this will happen or not. Oh, Montreal still has Marty to boo.

Isn't that what they told Danny Boyle too? And I've learned that rumors are born from some truth so I expect that your team really is in financial trouble despite what the owners are attempting to put out....

The only thing with Danny is that the new owners didn't want to sign him to that contract. That was all Feaster. Featser should have never pushed for that contract, knowing that once the new owners took over, they would look for a way out. I still don't like how they handled that whole situation. And I hate not seeing Danny in Tampa but I am also glad he is in San Jose cause now he gets to shine. I don't think with the ups and downs in Tampa this year he would be doing that good. The thing is Tampa franchise has been built around Vinny. As much as I don't trust the new owners, them getting rid of him would kill hockey in Tampa. Read on the Lightning board that rumor is Vinny's girlfriend did a radio interview in Canada a few weeks back and when asked, she said it would be nice to have him play there in Canada. I bet Vinny is a little ticked she said that.

This is the part that will make me HATE that trade to get him back. He'd better take as much of a discount as necessary to keep Ruutu, Jokinen, LaRose and Babchuk. I've made peace with losing Seidenberg b/c I just don't see how we'll be able to keep him and we have enough young d-men ready to come up from the Rats.

You have your sights set pretty high there DG! LOL.. I could be wrong but I don't see us keeping LaRose after this season. I do however completely agree with the rest of your list.

I'd love to keep Chad. He's one of the few who puts his all out on the ice EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. He earns his salary and then some, IMO.
But hey, I'm all for Erik taking a discount and sticking around. As of now, my heart is fully prepared to see him leave again. I think I'll be able to handle it a bit better this time around, should it happen. *knock on wood*

Don't get me wrong.. I think Chad brings it every night too and I would love to keep him. I just don't see enough money to go around with all the re-signings we have to accomplish. Then again I'm not the GM or the money keeper so what do I know? LOL.. I would love our team to basically stay the same next year give or take a player or two. I could live without Seidenburg.

Actually, we have plenty of money to work with. Remember that we are working under our own self-imposed salary cap.
