To quote Big Mike from Facebook:
"Fleury is probably the only NHL goalie to score two goals in a playoff game."
... too bad they were in his own net. And I lol'd when the Wings couldn't score on the open net.

Our local NBC didn't show it either so we didn't get to watch any of it.

Interesting game to watch. I loved the comment on the main board that said "Fleury 2, Penguins 1". Felt so bad for the guy because he was really working so hard and then those flukey goals that bounced on him. And did you see the puck land on Osgood's back? Just really weird things happened for those goals.
I thought the Pens were doing okay but it seemed that once Detroit got that second goal in the last minute of the 2nd, everything changed. They did very well at limiting Malkin's and Crosby's chances. I'll be interested in seeing how the Pens answer it tonight.

The one that landed on Osgood's back should have been a penalty because Zetterberg covered it, and you can't cover the puck.

The Pens played better last night than last year in the final so I thought that was a good sign.
I wondered about Zetterberg covering the puck too but I guess it was open to the refs interpretation of the rule is what I read.

That's ok, the refs were making up for all the non calls on Pittsburgh, like the trip Malkin did to get that breakaway that he almost scored on and the elbow by Matt Cooke to just name a few.

Ok, so if he knocked it off with his hand, wouldn't that be a hand pass (or is that still a penalty)?

He knocked it off and then laid on it, that's when everyone piled on top of it. I don't think it was a hand pass because he didn't really pass it to anyone. Here is the rule for a hand pass:
Rule 79 - Hand Pass
79.1 Hand Pass - A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the Referee, he has directed the puck to a teammate.
A player shall be permitted to catch the puck out of the air but must immediately place it or knock it down to the ice. If he catches it and skates with it, either to avoid a check or to gain a territorial advantage over his opponent, a minor penalty shall be assessed for “closing his hand on the puck” under Rule 67 – Handling Puck.
I thought I saw him push it off of Osgood's back and then everyone piled on top of it and it was hard to see where it ended up at.

IMO I thought it should have been a penalty as well for closing his hand over it in the crease but overall am okay with the officiating because they let them play. There were missed calls on BOTH teams and that's just the way it goes.
What I don't like, just as I didn't like it fream the Boston coach, is Babcock crying to the media for calls and saying that he thought "Crosby was headhunting" when he hit Zetterberg. Hitting is part of hockey people. UGH I didn't like it when Malkin was complaining about being hit and I don't like this complaining about his superstar being hit.

IMO the coach isn't helping with Crosby's "crybaby" rep if he is going to be complaining about his superstar being hit.. good lord coach.. it's HOCKEY!

If you don't wanna be hit, go play tennis.
Hockey is a contact sport. Suck it up and be a man.

Did you hear Babcock's talking after the game last night saying that he was misquoted the night before and that he thought the contact betwwen Crosby and "Big Z" was great and that he wouldn't disrespect Crosby like that.
