I saw this chatter a few places yesterday and kind of ignored it but when I saw it this morning on nhl.com I figured it probably has some legs. If this happens it will be interesting to see what happens with Biron. www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=424878&intcmpid=tckr

GUYS GUYS GUYSSSS.
Did you see where they're talking about the AHL goalie from University of Alabama-Huntsville?
THAT'S SO CLOSE TO MY HOUSE.
... wow I am so easily amused this morning.
Seriously though, reading about all his fighting problems, it seems like anyone he signs with would just be getting a goalie with a 'tude. :/

Kinda reminds me of little Justin Peters. LOL I love Goallie's with 'tudes...when the 'tudes don't get them in too much trouble.

Maybe Justin Peters could teach Emery how to reign in the 'tude. LOL
That AHL goalie is the one that was in the marathon Rats/Phantoms game with Leights last year too I believe. The 5OT one.

Poor Vampire goalie... I wonder where he will wind up if this happens.
Quote: PITTSBURGH – Barring a collapse in negotiations, the Flyers are expected to sign Ray Emery as their starting goalie for next season.
Several general managers at the Stanley Cup Final consider the matter a “done deal.” Emery was Ottawa’s property until released by the Senators last June.
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren declined to confirm what others are saying at the Cup Final.
“We’ve had conversations with his agent [J.P. Barry] about a lot of things,” Holmgren said. “But I’m not going to comment on our internal discussions of players.”
Barry told CSNPhilly.com he is confident a contract will get done.
"We have been talking several weeks now," Barry said from Calgary, Alberta. "Paul has done due diligence on Ray. I'm hopeful it will lead to a contract."

Why doesn't this surprise me! Good luck with that fat contract Dany.
Heatley wants out of Ottawa...
Despite only being one year into his contract extension with the Ottawa Senators, Dany Heatley apparently wants out.
According to a report on ESPN, The 28-year old who signed a six-year, $45 million contract extension with the team in October of 2007 - that includes a no-trade clause - has informed the team of his desire to move.
Senators general manager Bryan Murray has seen his club go downhill since they appeared in the Stanley Cup Final in 2007.
In the 2007-08 season, the Senators had a hot-start, but then had a brutal second-half of the season and held on to seventh place in the Eastern Conference, only to get swept by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
This past season, the Senators never really got it going, and missed the playoffs.
In order to deal Heatley, Murray would have to find a team with the room to take on the final five seasons of Heatley's contract that would count for $7.5 million per season against the salary cap.
Heatley notched 39 goals and 33 assists in 82 games last season. The 72 points were his lowest point totals in his four seasons with the Senators.
Heatley, who had back-to-back 50 goal seasons in 2005-06 and 2006-07, is believed to be interested in going to a Western Conference team.

I was surprised because for some reason I was thinking it was Spezza who was having the hardest time with the new coach. I wonder why a western conference team.......usually the players prefer the eastern conference.

I would bet it's not just any Western Conference team and specifically Calgary where he grew up.
I understood him asking for the trade out of Atlanta and just because it's Ottawa and knowing how players have been treated up there I can sort of understand it this time. I do seem to be having issues with it in my brain though because he JUST signed that contract last summer and pushed for the no movement clause. Now because his ice time has decreased and he's on the 2nd unit instead of the 1st he wants out? At least that's what I'm reading on TSN this morning. I'm sure it goes deeper than that but it just screams of spoiled child not getting his way.

That's pretty much how I took it too DG, that he was acting like a spoiled child.

On the other item in this thread that's current. I read that Philly is set to announce a deal with Emery today. Or at least a deal to sign a deal since I don't think he can actually sign it until July 1. I got the email announcing a press conference for them today and figured that's what it was about. TSN pretty much said so this morning.

Well, I'm sad because I like Marty but if we kept everyone that we liked would the team thrive? I would like Emery to prove himself and show that he can keep his temper in check. Again, the Flyers always grab the players with an attitude(Scott Hartnell, Dan Carcillo, now Emery) They will never live down that Broad Street bullies rep.

That's pretty much how I took it too DG, that he was acting like a spoiled child. Not only has he demanded (asked?) for a trade (reportedly - by the GM Murray - because the Coach called him out for not producing) but he has now submitted a list of teams (supposedly short) that he is willing to waive his NTC for. WTF man? Murray's response without actually saying it was that he would make the best deal for the team. Dany could either accept it or he would be bound to his contract to play in Ottawa. Good on Murray (who I've never liked as a GM) I say! UGH What a mess!
