Hatch was an excellent Dman and Captain for the Stars when he was there. Before his knees gave out on him and he got old. I'd give anything to have a young Hatch type dman on the Canes or back on the Stars.

I was reading that this morning and cracking up! It's so MY thoughts on it!
Granted, Burke did the opposite when he traded with the Oil for Pronger....

Today is a great day. Derian Hatcher is RETIRED! You don't like Hatch? I love him for what he did to Crosby when he first came into the league(sorry, Sid lovers). He used to bother him all the time. One time he laid a hit on Crosby and then when Crosby was on the ice he just drug him trying to get his stick back. it was classic. I agree with you DG, I would love for the Flyers to get a dman that is like a young Hatcher. You're lucky you got to see him in his prime. The Flyers got him when the new NHL came about and the big, bruising Dmen were obsolete. He did help us though in the playoffs last year, he loved to camp out in front of the net. He was named Director of Player Development for the Flyers, so hopefully he will help the young Dmen in the organization. I will wear my autographed Hatcher jersey, that I won, proudly!

This Sid lover was more than okay with that stuff in his rookie year. I was not all about the Sid train back then and it's been watching him grow BECAUSE of things like Hatch did that has made me appreciate him. I'm pleased that Hatch is staying in the Philly organization. He seems to have been really appreciated there and will do great things, I think, with the dmen.

Burke's comments are pretty funny. I agree with him...you ask, ok - off you go.
Ditto to DG's comments about the stuff in Sid's rookie year. I didn't watch as much hockey then, but watching him grow from stuff like that has made me like Sid more.

Its all over all the Russian sites too including the KHL team site. If it isn't on any of the Tampa paper sites, it'll probably be soon.I think Ekland's source this time was those sites and not anybody he supposedly knows. LOL, I think Ramo did sign cause there is know telling what's going on with the Lightning.

LOL, I think Ramo did sign cause there is know telling what's going on with the Lightning. I was going to just edit but did this instead. It is true. The papers and the news have picked this up. The anchor on the news here said it best, there has to be something wrong within the organization if a player would rather play in Russia than stay here. Ramo was slated to be #2 backup here as far as what all the reports say.

It would be hot stuff if this were really to happen during the draft friday night!
Quote: Late night Quick Hits...
*The Montreal Canadiens have "gone into lockdown mode" and sources are telling me that a "major deal announcement is being prepared for Friday night." Meanwhile, there has been some major shuffling going on among team coaches, etc. Another source in Montreal..."We are about to see a rebirth of this team. The excitement is off the charts. The people who are aware of what is about to happen are smiling ear to ear.
I have even heard that should the Canadiens get close, Lecavalier may actually go to Montreal and make an appearance once dealt to the Habs.
"It would be great to have him help go out and announce a draft pick," a source speculated.
