Hearing and seeing (mostly hearing) Justin was the ONLY highlight of that game. Other than that is was crap just pure and utter crap. Something has to change and change pretty damn quickly.

We won't feel good about it that's for sure. IMO and it IS my opinion only.. I think if we lose these next two games tommorow night and Sunday against teams in our division we will see a new coach not long after that. I hope it doesn't come to that I truly do and I also hope I am wrong.

That's what I have been thinking....either that or a major trade.

I agree that something major will change and it'll probably be the coach. I just don't see another major trade unless it involved goaltending??? We've changed the defense, we've changed the forwards....the only thing left is coaching and tending.

I was just sitting here wondering WHO the heck we could trade or more importantly who anyone would even want. Even as far as our goaltenders. I think it sucks that this is all going to fall on Lavi because a coach can only work with what he is given and it's like we have a corp of mish/mash out there. Maybe he has given up anyway, he surely doesn't present as being livid and angry in his post game interviews which boggles my mind.

And can I just say that when they started talking about the trade that brought JWill to Carolina, and Justin said it was the greatest thing that ever happened to him, I really wanted to hug him. AAAWWW! I'm so glad that he flourished with the Canes because Ken Hitchcock would've ruined him. I miss him but I'm happy for him. Is there any way possible to be able to hear that interview? I hate that I miss so much.

I doubt it Freaky, he was up in the booth with John and Tripp for the whole second period so it wasn't like a one on one interview. I'm sorry you missed it though. On the upside he did say he hoped to be back on skates in a few weeks!

Not that a trade between SE teams would happen but Cam for Kolzig and some oddities like picks and futures and prospects between the two? It looks like Smitty has the #1 tied up down there and Olie and Leights could compete with each other here. Granted it would be a demotion for Cam.....Hell I haven't a clue to be honest with ya!

Well lord knows we could use some picks and prospects for our future. I could do a Cam for Kolzig but unless JR has had a big change of heart about his Cam lurve I don't see Cam going anywhere. I don't have a clue either DG. All I'm doing at this point is keeping my fingers crossed for two magical games on Friday and Sunday to make this all a little bit better.

Well here's what JR has to say today
Rutherford concerned about work ethic Submitted by chipalexander on 11/13/2008 - 10:57 Tags: Lord Stanley's Blog | Jim Rutherford Jim Rutherford realizes it's a long season, that the Carolina Hurricanes will have the inevitable highs and lows and that injuries -- and then players returning from injury -- can affect performance.
But the Canes' listless 5-2 loss to Atlanta on Sunday at the RBC Center, followed by the 5-1 beating by the Washington Capitals on Wednesday at home has Rutherford very much concerned about his team's work ethic and effort.
"You never know year to year how a team will come together or how the chemistry will be," Rutherford, the Canes' president and general manager, said today. "We don't know yet how things will be and we have not had a majority of our team together because of the injuries.
"But that doesn't excuse how you go about playing the games. There's no excuse for visiting teams to come into our building, in front of our fans, and outwork us in all parts of the game.
"We have enough good players to have a good season. I want to see a team that will go to war together and that's determined to win at all costs, to do whatever it takes, as we said when we won the (2006 Stanley) Cup. I did not see that the last two games."
Last season, a slide in late-November into December eventually cost the Canes a playoff berth. Rutherford said the team should have learned its lesson and do all it can to avoid a repeat.
"Last year we got off to a good start and then for some reason in November and December our work ethic changed," he said. "Our games against Detroit and Edmonton (at the RBC Center this season) I thought were well-played and we got a great effort. We lost those two games but the team gave everything it had.
"But in the last two games, I have not liked our work ethic. The visiting team has outworked us on both ends, offensively and defensively. I'm very concerned about our play the last two games."
Rutherford did not say what changes, if any, would be made.
"It's still too early to say how I feel," he said.

Do they still do 'bag skates'....maybe the team needs something like that to motivate them.

Yes they do, in fact they just had one a few weeks ago from what I heard.. obviously it didn't do the trick.

Being at the past two games, I want my money back! I heard people taking bets on how much longer Lavi will be with the team. Some people thought he would be gone today. I'm figuring they may be waiting to see how they play on Friday and if it still a horrid effort by the team, I'm sure something will change beit firing Lavi or trading someone to shake up the team. At least I had my iPod to occupy my time.
The only slight, and I mean slight, break I am giving them is the fact we had three players come back last night. I did see Sutter go after Ovenchicken. Needless to say the refs broke it up. Ovenchicken from what I was told hit or went after Sutter's head and he got pissed. To see him grab Ovenchicken by the neck of his jersey and start shaking him was just awesome. Stupid refs should have let him fight him.

From the above posted quote from JR today that came out he obviously has a little more patience left at this point with the team than I thought he would. I agree ghoulie that with the next two games being within our division how those turn out is going to be very telling for Lavi's future. Sutter grabbed Ovie by the jersey and was shaking him? LMAO now seeing that would have been the highlight of the game. Brandon Sutter rocks!
