Thanks for that info Ellie. Here is a little blurb from the paper about when it happened...
Williams' teammates try to cope Submitted by chipalexander on 09/18/2008 - 11:46 Tags: Lord Stanley's Blog | Justin Williams. Chad LaRose
Chad LaRose knew it was bad. Very bad.
The Hurricanes forward was working out Wednesday with teammate Justin Williams, getting in some off-ice exercises, when ...
"I was right next to him. He just stopped and there was a big pop," LaRose said today. "We all heard it — a big pop."
Just like that, Williams had torn his right Achilles tendon. After surgery, his recovery time is expected to be four to six months, leaving the Canes without one of their top wingers.
"It's tough. Justin's kind of irreplaceable," LaRose said. "You can't put anybody in his spot. It's tough for him and tough for us to swallow.
"It's tough but we've got a lot of guys here who can step up and contribute a little more."
Among the players general manager Jim Rutherford mentioned soon after Williams' injury were LaRose and Ryan Bayda. While the injury was devastating, Rutherford said, it would open up an opportunity for others.
Bayda, of course, didn't want it to come about this way. Not with Williams, who missed a chunk of last season with a serious knee injury, being sidelined again.
"It took months for him to get his knee back in shape," Bayda said. "To go down, just before the season, it stinks. But it's part of the game and something we'll have to deal with.
"We can't dwell on it. We've got enough guys here with enough experience to get us through this."

Yes, I like to sneak around and change things up sometimes. And the idea of us starting out without JWill doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. >.<

Soooo, fair to say running in the 5K probably didn't help? And the recovery time does not sound fun at allllll. *hugglesWilly*
I was going to type *hugglesJustin* but huggling a willy sounds more fun. *snicker*

I know now he is hating being out for as long as he is - and so are we - but when his son grows up he will always have this time with him.
Course that is me being a sap.

That's an awesome CT too isn't it? LOL.. I see your point Turn.. it's a lot more time than he would have normally had with Jaxon at this point.. doesn't make it any easier for me though... or all the other rabid fans that have waited since last December to see him back on the ice... Oh well.. nothing we can do but support our team anyway and hope for the best I guess...

Perhaps. =D
I firmly believe everything happens for a reason, but times like this, it's hard to understand what that reason could possibly be.

Ohhhhh lookie.. I have a new CT!!! Yes, I'm sure being home with Jaxon will help and Kelly is probably secretly thrilled to know she is going to have his help at home for a while. Either that or she'll have two babies at home....lol.... And I agree, he is probably so bummed out. It's not fair.

Hahahahaha. More than likely two babies at home, lol.
At least until he's out of his walking cast.
