Put a little sunshine in your heart: www.dailymotion.com/video/x250tf_carolina-hurricanes-clinch-eastern (Except not so much for Steph.) Hallmark update: We have these cool Pop Culture cards in now that have quotes from movies and TV shows on the front. I squeed when I spotted a "Veronica Mars" one (but it's not one of the ones I would have picked), and there's a great "Mouin Rouge" one, too. My co-worker and I read through all of them and usually we only play with the music cards. =.)

I didn't look at the link, but I'm assuming that it's about what happened a year ago today right? haha
On the radio this morning they were joking around and asking people, "Do you remember where you were and what you were doing a year ago today when you found out that Jay McKee had a staff infection and couldn't play game seven??" Cause no one thought it was real. haha I actually do remember where i was and what I was doing...

Ahhhhhhhhh... one year ago today.... such memories indeed. Beginning of the actual official hurricane season... & our boys blew into the finals round for the Cup.
We went to game 7 vs. BUF & got home at about 1 AM or so 'cause we were at the arena afterwards & celebrating getting into the finals, & we lived in Johnston County at that time, so we had to drive an hour to & from the arena. We all got home, checked the 'Canes site, & Dallas & I had stayed up until 5 AM, when we went back out to the arena to get there by 6 AM to get on the line for the tickets. The arena opened the ticket window up 15 min. before the tickets went on sale for Ticketmaster, & I was one of the few lucky ones that actually got to the window before 8 o'clock, so I got to choose wherever we wanted to sit.
I chose sec. 314, btw - which is the section the Stanley Cup banner hangs in front of.
What a ride this time last year, ladies. My, my, my. **sighs from the memories**

*Quick side note: If you don't "get" bg I made jsut watch this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=15hQRxMVAf8 because it explains that and the "is it getting dany heatley in here" thing Oh memories. I can't say I have any from the SCC last year unfortunately, but I one of my fondest memories is that of my first Canes game. We had decided to go at the last second....it was on Nov 28, and we played the Sens. Uh, we lost 4-1 and the crowd was incredibly silent the entire game but I still had sooo much fun. My bestest, Megan kept trying to apologize "I am sorry, I have no idea why the crowd is so quiet and why the team is playing so terribly" I was just like "Are you kidding, this is the best thing ever" Ladders scored the only Hurricanes goal that night and Gerbs got an ovation for making a star of the night. I think I was probably one of the only Canes fans leaving with a huge grin after that game LOL

Sadly, I have no fond memories of winning games in the RBC. Every time I go... they lose.
Maybe I should stop trying to go. :-\

I was there too the night we won the ECF and my friend in Buffalo sent me a text at the end of the 2nd saying "Ha! We're only 20 minutes away now" I had just lost my grandfather in April and so I looked up and said "I know this isn't important in the big scheme of things, but Please??" and they came back and won it! We were there with my brother in law, the giant Sabres fan, so it was very hard not to run into the parking lot screaming like loons about it. So we waited until we got in our car and then started laughing and cheering. Ahhhh, memories. ;D
