I keep telling myself that if I can ever get my house to a Clean and Decluttered State, I'll splurge on a maid to KEEP it that way. As it is, I have so much crap that there's just no way a maid could come in to clean it in the first place.

Make sure you check ALL the boxes you have though. My parents did something like that before I was born. They threw out a bunch of boxes they hadn't opened in forever...

... and ended up throwing away some REALLY expensive crystal sets.

I know what you mean, Heather. I had to take everything out of one of my closets last year because I was having new AC installed (because the other one freakin' died on a 3-day weekend) and they had to rewire the AC through my closets. (Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng story.) Before I put everything back, I thought, "Now's a good time to go through these boxes that haven't been touched in the three years I've lived here." I found COUPON SECTIONS from a 2003 NEWSPAPER in one of them. My best guess is that I must have stuffed them in there in a mad, slapdash cleaning spree and I just never looked in the box again. I keep saying I'm going to sort through all of this crap before I move it again.

And Mel raises a good point. My mom has been working on getting rid of unnecessary paperwork around the house -- and we think she mistakenly threw away her and Dad's passports. (Speaking of passports, I love these covers from Vera Bradley. Unfortunately, we don't have them at my Hallmark store.)

ooh those are pretty passport covers! We're probably gonna have to invest in those sometime soon so that we can get to Canada when we're up in Buffalo being they're gonna require them soon. boooo to that!
