Yay for Patrick Sharp!!! Thank God the Hawks were able to pull it out. I hope Khabi is ok, he has been a rock for them.
Take the next one boys and you'll be in good shape!

Get well Khabi! It would be a darn shame for him to help get the Hawks this far and then not be able to finish it.

From what I read last night, Khabi is out for game 4 with a lower body injury and Huet is in. Will get to see how well Chris does for myself since NBC will be broadcasting the game. Just wish I could get to see my Khabi once again. Sigh.
Now I'm left with a bigger worry... If our Canes don't make it to the Finals, who do I want to win the Western Conference? I'm at the point now where I just want a Western team that will take down Sid the hard way...

I'm not posting in the Canes thread this morning because I will say things that I will later regret. BUT I can say in this thread without reservation today LET'S GO WINGS! They are the team with the best possibility of taking out the Pens and making them suffer and that's what I want to see! I'm so sick of the Penguin love fest I could puke. For me to actually want the Wings to win anything shows how damn frustrated I have become. GRRRRRRRR!!

As much as I love the Hawks, I think you're right about the Wings being the only team to beat Pittsburgh. Now does everyone feel my pain when I say I hate Pittsburgh. If they win the Stanley Cup, I will completely lose it, especially if the guy i worked with has the nerve to call me again.
So, Go Wings, maybe? Yuck!

Hate to be a downer ladies but after watching the Pens for most of these playoffs, I don't think even the Wings will stop them this year....they are playing better and better as they go through the playoffs and someone has obviously done their homework as far as how to play their opponents.

That is exactly what the Flyers boards looked like this year and last year when we played Pittsburgh. All the Pittsburgh trolls can't wait to show up and trash talk. Then they close their message boards and don't let anybody sign up. But the sad thing is, if the Canes and the Flyers met in the first round, I would probably be on here apologizing for the stupid Flyers fans that probably would have done the same thing.

If the Wings make it to the SCF and beat the Pens, I will seriously lose a friend.

Why would you lose a friend if the Wings beat the Pens?

Well I can surely relate to what the Hawks fans went through today. Huet gets pulled early in the second period and they send in the third string goalie.. poor kid had to be freaked out! Then they put Huet back in for the third? Also what's with pulling Osgood and putting Conklin in the third? Maybe the Wings coach was just trying to ease the Hawks pain? Things got really out of hand towards the end and the refs were making calls left and right. Crazy hockey game. Hawks and Canes both facing elimination in their next game.

Why would you lose a friend if the Wings beat the Pens? Because Richard (my weirdo Wing friend) would not let me live it down if the Wings beat the Pens in back to back years.

I'm guessing that the Wings made the switch to let Conklin get some ice time in. The game was well in hand for Detroit, so they could give Osgood a breather and give Conklin a chance to work so that he wouldn't be coming in so cold, like Huet had been in game 3. I didn't hear any mention about Osgood being sick or hurt, so that's the only reason I can come up with.
I felt sorry for both Hawk goalies! Huet was having enough of a problem dealing with the net and his teammates weren't there for him. Then poor Crawford was tossed into the mix and then switched back out in the third. Weird weird weird.
What a sad game that was to watch. I have to agree with the NBC announcers that the Hawks were showing that they really are a young group of players. I don't blame the refs (though there were some missed Wing penalties) for the constant march to the box. The Hawks dug themselves a hole and then covered it up quite nicely themselves.
