We do need them. Poor babies.
I know we lost this game, but I had a good time watching it.
Does anyone else just have that feeling that we have to win? That we can't lose? I'm loving this.

Yeah, Middle of Nowhere, because I live in a rinky dink small town that no one has heard of out in the middle of frickin' nowhere.
Unless I'm at school, which is a bigger city that most people have heard of.

Well the good news is that was easily the best game 1 we have played in these playoffs. The bad news is we always and I mean ALWAYS get injured players at the Igloo. I swear that place is jinxed for our team and injuries. Luckily Cole and Ruutu get a few days to help them heal and my fingers are crossed that they can get back on the ice. I swear I thought we were going to pull out another miracle come back in the last few minutes of that game. *sigh*

Ohhh that IS a lot of stress! LOL.. well the way I see it if you will no longer get all your Flyers games on TV those will be the ones you will have to get tickets to and go see in person which can of course be blamed on your husband for changing providers! LOL As for him changing in the middle of the playoffs.. I would kill him.. seriously. BUT on a positive note you will LOVE and I mean LOVE the NHL Network during the season. It's quite addictive! Susan, I thought the same thing about going to see those games in person so I don't miss them..I do have the NHL Network now and I do love it! I think it will be great to have in the off season when we are jonesing for some hockey. Tough loss last night. They got so close at the end. I hope Ruu and Erik are ok. I just hate the Penguins and the refs with the penalties. They will get them on Thursday, hopefully I can see the game...lol...

Mel, I don't know how you are handling watching these. One game between the Stars and Canes and I almost had to be hospitalized. So I will keep you in my thoughts until this series is over. Eeep!

*kisses the hockey gods*
Quote: PITTSBURGH -- Canes forward Tuomo Ruutu was feeling sore today but said he hopes to be able to play in Game 2 on Thursday against the Penguins.
"Having the extra day off should help," he said. "I feel like I should be ready."
Ruutu suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of Game 1. Ruutu fell and said a Penguins player fell on him.
The Canes also lost forward Erik Cole later in the game after a knee-on-knee hit from the Pens' Matt Cooke.
Canes coach Paul Maurice said today that he had no further update on either player.

Didn't get to see the game since we don't have the cable package to handle it, but we kept up on the internet broadcasts what was going on. A bit of a downer that the guys didn't get the win, but worried more about Ruu and especially Cole. Hope they'll be okay and back with us in a couple of days for the next game.

Oh crap. Another Cole/ Ruutu update.
Quote: PITTSBURGH — Hurricanes forwards Erik Cole and Tuomo Ruutu are questionable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins, general manager Jim Rutherford said this afternoon.
Rutherford said Cole and Ruutu, who have lower-body injuries, underwent MRI's today and that he then talked to head trainer Pete Friesen about their condition.
"I do not think it looks good for either player," Rutherford said. "Pete Friesen was not overly optimistic about either.
"But we have two days between games and extra time. Certainly if we played tomorrow night, they would not be playing."
Rutherford said no decision had been made on possible replacements and may not be until just before game time on Thursday. It's possible center Jussi Jokinen could be moved to the wing on Rod Brind'Amour's line, with either Dwight Helminen or Brandon Sutter centering the fourth line.
"It depends on what the need is," Rutherford said.
