Nope, it was right before the Ladd/Ruutu trade last year so this will indeed be his first CN here. I'm quite excited about that since he's usually so playful after games. Let's just hope the womene don't make the men behave too much. Hahah! Be quick with the pictures? I've already broken my new years resolution so I don't know how quick I can promise to be. I'm 6 (I think) games behind now but in my defense I haven't been home for 5 weekends straight... I love my Lollipop but bald and in a fedora? Hmmm, I dunno. Maybe I'll find out.

He indeed is. He, Dennis and Bayda did the St. Baldrick's shaving the head thing again a few weeks ago.

Guys, since this is going OT, why not make a Casino Night thread and leave this one for other articles?

Guys, since this is going OT, why not make a Casino Night thread and leave this one for other articles? Wow it's been a long time since we have gone off topic. YEA FOR US! Casino night thread is now in the off topic section. Mel I don't know if you can move the actual posts pertaining to it or not?

Cam gets the day off and Tripp fills in at practice.. LOL
Karmanos at practice; Ward isn't Submitted by chipalexander on 03/16/2009 - 11:06 Tags: Canes Now The Canes had an interested observer today at practice: owner Peter Karmanos.
Another interesting twist to practice: Cam Ward was not on the ice. Tripp Tracy, the Canes' TV color analyst and a former goalie, was a stand-in today with Ward given the day off.
"I think part of the process he's going through is learning when he needs to be on the ice and when he doesn't," Maurice said of Ward. "At this point in the year, with the number of games he's played, he has to start to develop these kind of routines.
"We all agreed the last thing he needed was to be out there to get those ... up-and-down the ice shots. Tomorrow he'll go back into full practice and be ready."
Forward Patrick Eaves, who has an upper-body injury, was held out of practice. Maurice said Eaves could play Wednesday against New Jersey but that he was "day to day."
Forward Scott Walker did take part in practice. Walker, still feeling some of the effects of post-concussion symptoms, did not make last week's three-game road trip.
"We're being very cautious ..." Maurice said. "We just can't have it be a chronic thing with him."
Karmanos was in town for the Casino Night festivities on Sunday and for the team photo, annually taken late in the season.

A blurb about our boys and St. Patricks Day.. DG if you were still in town you could have shown Mike Ryan where and Irish Pub is! LOL
Quote: Irish Canes low-key St. Patty's Day
Submitted by chipalexander on 03/17/2009 - 12:54 Tags: Canes Now
The Canes' Tim Conboy showed up for practice today with a St. Patrick's Day reminder, front and center.
"A shamrock bottle-opener belt buckle," he said, smiling. "Trying to be in the spirit, you know."
Conboy, who is of Irish descent, said he also planned on having green beer during the day.
"But only a couple," he said. "We've got a game tomorrow. You can't get too crazy."
Michael Ryan grew up in the Boston area and played part of the last two seasons in Buffalo. In both, St. Patty's Day was decidedly special. So what might he do today, in Raleigh, on St. Patty's Day?
"I'm moving into a new place," Ryan said. "That's about it for today."
Then there's Patrick Eaves. What about it, Patty?
"I'll take my wife out for a green beer — that's about it," Eaves said. "She's Irish, too."
Matt Cullen said he did wear some green to the arena today.
"But not on purpose," he said. "I don't celebrate it. Maybe in a couple of years when my little kids are a little older. My oldest is 2, so we'll try in a couple of years when he's old enough and I can teach him about all that stuff."
Ryan did have a question before leaving the RBC Center.
"Know of any good Irish pubs? I'm new in town."
