A reply! WOOO! haha. He is doing really well, it makes me happy too. You mentioned him going out with a bang, and that sort of freaks me out. Not like I don't know it's coming, but it's not something I'm going to enjoy. I've been having dreams about it lately too. Which is worse, losing him to LA, or losing him for good!!! Dammit.
He told me after the playoffs in 2006, when we got booted out by Ottawa, that he'd be back with Tampa, if his kids didn't force him to retire over the summer. I thought that was the sweetest ever. He has the best kids in the world. *sigh*
Anyway.

Sorry the pics were a little blurry -- it was the first time I'd ever gone down to the glass to take pictures and I was just to the side of the goal, so apparently quite a few pucks and helmets have streaked the glass there. =.)

Yeah, so the game sucked tonight. Kopitar is out injured, so it's like, there's no offense. It sucked bad. Last I checked, it was 3-0 Hawks over Kings. That blows.

Whyohwhyohwhyohwhyohwhy didn't I see this thread earlier? Oh, well ... SB played a heckuva game Thursday night against the Hawks, making one sweet save after another. It's beyond sad that his teammates hung him out to dry, allowing him to lose 5-4 in OT. If nothing else, at least his Kings team is out of the Western Conference cellar! ;D Jan/GSBG

I had to work late the other night for that game, so I missed it. Seems like alot lately Burkie has been getting a point for his team, cause I'll tell ya, if it wasn't for him, they'd not even be getting close to the OT period. They really need Anze back!! Last night at The Lightning vs Sabres game, I was sitting across from the Lightning bench, and i looked over, I had one of those moments. I thought Burkie was sitting there on the bench, and I got happy, and then I realised...no such luck.

I actually DO have Center Ice, and I honestly have no idea how I got along without it before this year! it's amazing to get to watch every team, I've learned so much! I usually DVR The Kings games, and watch them the next day.

Burkie's had a rough night tonight, no doubt about it, coughing up two goals in the second before reliquishing his spot in net to Mathieu Garon. Right now, it's 3-3 Ducks-Kings. I usually DVR The Kings games, and watch them the next day. You're beyond lucky, Kristina. Very truly, count your blessings. It's OT, but ... ... Since Mr. G lost his job at the end of January 2006, we've had to cut back our hockey big time. That means our live hockey this season has dropped off to four Ducks games (all in the nosebleeds) at Honda Center since his layoff, and we've felt like spendthrifts doing that. The $$ we'd have spent for more games has stayed in savings, while whatever puck we've wanted to watch has been on cable or network TV. Once we open our store, Mr. G and I will consider going for CI next year. Here's to a better outing for Burkie next time. Jan/GSBG

Jan/GSBG My Poor Burkie. *sigh* These are the times I really wish I was there to support him. I hope those LA fans don't give him too much crap for ONE off night. I swear, I will never forget when he first came here, and he played The Devils, and lost 8-2, it was terrible, and his kids were here for break, and he came out with them, and I yelled out to him, that he was amazing anyway, and he smiled, and said that I was sweet. Good times. His kids are so lucky to have him. Anyway... sorry, I derailed myself down memory lane. Kings just need to play better. That's all there is to it, and obviously they need baby Anze. I miss seeing him on the ice! Do you know how he is doing, Jan?! I know, I am lucky I have CI. It's an amazing thing, but obviously an extra thing, that could easily go away, just like anything else. trust me when I say, I understand your situation. Whenever I got to games, I sit in the nosebleeds too. Ever since winning Stanley, everything about our arena BLOWS, and I would NEVER pay what they want to sit closer. No thanks. Most recently, they took away souviner cups. We now only have pepsi products, and in 20oz bottles, for 5$!!!!!!!!!!! Insane. I'll drink out of the toilet first! haha. Uhhhh. GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!

Um, so turns out Burkie got his mask re-done. Am I really behind? It's so annoying he won't stay still long enough for me to check it out in detail! I'm like, BURKIE STOP MOVING! haha. It's nice and purple. I dig it.

It's nice and purple. I dig it. Weeeeeellll, Kristina, now I can say this! ;D A week or two ago, your boy mentioned to Kings coaches, management , and announcers (HHOF broadcaster Bob Miller is a pretty credible source, IMHO) that he's seriously considering returning to the Kings next season. Given what a wonderful influence he's been on this club -- believe it or not, the Kings' locker room was an even worse mess than the Bolts', thanks in no small part to Sean Avery and his nonstop distractions -- and to netminding protege' Mathieu Garon, I'm inclined to think that Kings GM Dean Lombardi is seriously considering bringing him back for next season. I, for one, would clap, cheer, and woot big time if Burkie returns next year! ;D Since his arrival, he's kept this previously pathetic team close and competitive in an unbelievable number of games -- so many I can't remember 'em all! He's blown away all concerns I'd had about him: his injury history, his age, and so on. Heck, he looks considerably fitter and faster than the Ducks' Ilya Bryzgalov, 13 years his junior. Right now, I'm :restlessnatives: at his teammates. They blew his 2-1 lead against Dallas early in the third, and allowed him to lose 4-2 (the fourth goal was an empty-netter). The one nice thing about tonight's effort was -- other than Burkie's generally studly work in net -- Anze's return to the ice. Go Canes, Ducks, and Kings! Jan/GSBG

Well Jan. If he does stay with The Kings next year, will you go to a game with me? Cause I WILL be coming to LA if he signs there, hopefully opening home game. And I just had to share this pic, because it just made me giggle. Oh Burkie.

PM me about your travel plans a week or two before you head here: If I can spare some time beyond that, I can show you around some of my fave spots in SoCal. How does that sound? And that's a darling pic of a handsome man. Thanks for sharing it! ;D Jan/GSBG
