Yes ladies.. we have lost our coach! Press conference at 11:30... anyone care to take bets on who the new coach is? Internet buzz says it Paul Maurice but I think they would be crazy to bring him back again.

Oh, man! This is not a good news day - first the Augusta Lynx have ceased operations and are no longer in the ECHL and now this. I hope this might turn the guys around and get them back on target, but I'm going to remain guarded optomistic. The coach can do some good but it takes the entire team to make it work.

Sometimes a simple coaching change is all it takes. How many of our current players were here under Coach Mo's regime before?
I'm going to be optimistic about it as well and continue to cheer on our boys.
Now if the Stars would buy a clue and give Tip a membership to the club!

I think maybe only 3 or four were on the team when he was coach DG.. Brindy, Staal, Wallin.. I think he and JWill passed in the night. I will be optimistic too once I get over feeling so bad for Lavi.. *sigh*. I must say it was refreshing to watch the press conference and hear some of the ideas that Maurice and Francis have for changing some things up with the team because lord knows somebody needs to do something! I sure hope Maurice won't be greeted with any boo's at tommorow nights game. Although I guess if he is all it will take are a few wins and everyone will love him right? lol

I for one won't boo. Nope, a change was needed and this is the change made. So I'll support it and cheer and be a good little Canes fan.
*scampers off to find replay of presser*

Wishing Coach Lavi all the best. Wonder who'll pick him up? I wouldn't be surprised to see him land in Tampa to be honest with you.

Man the things you miss out on when you don't check the news at work. Hopefully this change brings about a much needed change on the team. I just hope that people realize that it wasn't totally Lavi's fault and that the players have to take some responsibility for what has gone wrong.

The coach wasn't the problem, and I'd lay odds that 90% of the problem is the players.
And Maurice coming back is just... poor judgement.
I can tell you one very important thing, if he treats Williams anything like Hitchcock treated Williams, we're out our sharpshooter too. I think Lavi's the only coach that has respected JWill yet, and I don't know that this will go over well.

I would certainly hope that anybody that thinks rationally would have to realize that Turnie.. IMO the players need to take MOST of the responsibility for what has gone wrong. Of course there are always those fans that think the guys on the ice can never do any wrong just like there were so many fans screaming they wanted Lavi gone... well guess what? Now that he is gone they are screaming because our new coach is Maurice.. lol.. be careful what you wish for!! I can say I was glad to hear that there is no long term contract being handed out to Maurice, he has just agreed to come and coach out this season with Francis so hopefully if he isn't the "savior" JR seems to think he can be we can move on at the end of this season.
