I know I'm biased because it's Joe, but we witnessed one of the classiest things ever from a hockey player last night. As Joe was leaving the arena he had to walk by the Pens fans waiting on the Pens bus to leave. First of all, THANK GOODNESS they weren't the obnoxious gloating kind!! They said some kind words to Joe and instead of just ignoring them and continuing on like he likes to do Joe stopped and shook every one of their hands. It seriously brought a tear to my eye because Joe Corvo, ladies, has come a long way this season with accepting fans' support. I still truly believe his experience in Ottawa screwed with his head and now, just over a year later, we're finally getting him to believe again. Now I just hope he doesn't become trade bait since he's a UFA next summer.... I <3 you Joe Corvo!

Classy move on his part and great to hear. From everything I've heard about last night the Pens fans at this game were a much classier group than those that appeared over the Memorial Day holiday.

Canes fans were just as bad over the weekend though too. The Pens fans were MUCH better last night though. Now if I could just get Joe to stop when I have things for him to sign or want to take a picture. Last night was the first real reaction to a sign I've taken for him, so baby steps. LOL

Joe will come around. It's just going to take time. You know how delicate hockey players have to be handled.. LOL

He didn't like all the attention in Ottawa is my understanding, so he was probably a little leery of fans in general. Once he realizes you mean no harm you will probably have to push him away all the time.

He didn't like all the negative attention in Ottawa. I mean who would really like it when the newspaper actually puts the headline "Uh Oh Corvo strikes again" as the sports front page? He was never really accepted by the majority there and I think it's just still with him. When mslarose told him at Casino night that we "love having him here" he was truly shocked and touched. I mean, sure he knew already that I love having him here but more than one? hahah *hugglesJoe* Once he realizes you mean no harm you will probably have to push him away all the time. Now that's a task I would welcome with open arms!

We are quite lucky to have Mr. Corvo on our roster. Shaking the Pens fans hands last night was so classy, along with the well wishes he made sure to give to the younger Pens last night in the handshake line.
It KILLS me that Ottawa was so negative towards him and made him so leery. Sure, he has his moments (name me a player that doesn't) but watch him skate for a game...he's awesome. He's very smart out there.
I just hope he doesn't fall over from shock/being freaked out when *I* show up in a Corvo jersey next year.

I am thinking that it wasn't just him it was his family that they bothered.....he has nothing bad to say about the Sens in particular but it was the attention he received.

Ok, I didn't read this thread originally, but I read it today since there were new posts. I noticed the tattoo on Joe's left upper arm at the last regular season game when they gave away their sweaters... but I had no idea he was all tatted up!
Maybe I'm an idiot, but which other players have tattoos like that? I have a half sleeve, among others, and I was always a little worried that Timmy wouldn't fall immeeediately in love with me if he thinks tattoos are stupid. But... I have to know...

That is an excellent question, you aren't an idiot! LOL.. of all the ladies on this board I'm sure Dewalgirl and mslarose would be able to help the most with that question. To be honest I don't think I know of anyone but Joe that has them. So you have a half sleeve? What do you have? I don't have any myself only because I'm a baby when it comes to pain but my son has two half sleeves.

The only other one I know for sure who is inked up is Timmy Conboy. Others might have some small ones but I don't know of any others who are covered like Joe and Timmy C.

Anyone, feel free to move this entire post to a more applicable thread... What do you have? I don't have any myself only because I'm a baby when it comes to pain but my son has two half sleeves. My left forearm has a bracelet of vines and leaves that crawl up to my elbow with a pink hibiscus, heart with a keyhole, light pink dogwood blossom, a gold and brown horseshoe, the outline of NC, a purple lily-looking flower, a flying bluebird, and an anchor. The general theme is that NC is my home (and I guess that I like pretty flowers, lol). I'm still fleshing out an exact idea to continue that theme on the upper arm; I think it will end up being a lighthouse (another NC staple) surrounded by water (crashing hurricane force waves, perhaps?). I think I read (in this thread?) that someone else has stars tattooed in an unmentionable place? I have stars, too, but they are on my hip bones and they have wings. I also have an unfinished back piece; so far it is just a hummingbird on each of my shoulder blades facing towards each other. Someday, when I stop spending all my disposable cash on hockey tickets, there will be an anatomical heart between them with a banner that says "Are you listening?" That phrase has two meanings to me: in the tattoo, I hope it implies "Are you listening to your heart?" but I got the expression from my favorite band (*ahem*Hanson*cough*) when they started a campaign to get people to listen to unsigned artists. The pain is not so bad. The only other one I know for sure who is inked up is Timmy Conboy. Others might have some small ones but I don't know of any others who are covered like Joe and Timmy C. I knew I liked Conboy. He's so... intense. I'm scared and excited by him at the same time.

Your ink sounds pretty and very well planned. Yes hockey tickets will bleed you dry that's for sure but it is SO worth it. Mods sorry we kind of took the Corvo thread off topic! LOL... back on track now!
