Detroit apparently had no luck when it comes to games going into 3OT.

I swear I didn't think that game was EVER going to end! I can only imagine how wiped out the players were.

It was definitely a long game. We started watching a bit of it, went to see a show then stayed over to talk with some friends in the theater, and came back to find them going into the first OT. It was like seeing another game except with very tired players <G>.
But best of all, the Ducks won! Yay Ducks!!

Detroit apparently had no luck when it comes to games going into 3OT. Sure they do...a little less recent was Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2002. It went into 3 overtimes and went until 1:16 am. I was eight and my parents wanted to leave but I wouldn't let them. It was one of the only, if not the only game I remember from that far back. That was back when we sat in the lower bowl too. I miss that ever so often...

Ok, so they're 1 for 3. The one in 2002, the one against the Pens last year, and this one.

Susan, I'm with you on this series. I really didn't like anyone but I'm tired of the Wings thinking they should win everything. Plus, there's something about the 8th seed coming in and surprising everyone. Visions of the 2006 Edmonton Oilers

I'm glad he is going to be ok. That could have really been a tragedy.
