On the main board someone had this stat: NJD's first line: 4 goals, 5 assists. our first line: 1 goal, 0 assists.

Maybe it's time to mix up the lines. Has Maurice kept to the same lines? Make every line a threat.
OT-What was Bill Cowher doing sounding the horn at the beginning of the game? Is he a Pittsburgh fan?

No our first line doesn't have the points but they have been working their tails off. In fact, I think the 1 of the three I think has had the least impact is Ruutu and that surprises me. The Devils defense has been amazing at shutting them down when they get in front of the net. IMO we've been outmuscled and shoved off the puck by the Devils in every game.
I think that in Games 2 and 3 we've had pretty decent games but just came up short. I was pissed at our guys after Game 1 but I can't be pissed at Games 2 and 3.
And yes, trying to change up the mojo. I feel I've overworked Joe with the jersey and siggy and avi. So I'll be wearing a new jersey and tshirt on Tuesday.

Freaky, he has kept the same lines and considering that it took a long time to find the chemistry after shuffling people around left and right, I wouldn't mix them up. The ONLY change I might contemplate is Jussi between Chad and Ray again if Matty isn't 100% or Jussi between Sammy and Patty with Brindy between Bayda/Conboy and Scotty.
Bill Cowher lives in Raleigh with his family.

I guess I just don't see it that way. I don't think they have been working their tails off much at all. I think they have been pushed off of the puck continually way to easy and I have yet to see one of them park their butt in front of the net other than Staal being in the right place at the right time to catch that fluky rebound and swat it in once. I know they say you always seem to have the unsung heros in the playoffs and I think that's great but IMO we are not going to win this series without our first line finding their mojo.. well that and figure out why we are sucking so bad again on the power play. *edited* to add.. I'm not trying to argue with anyone I'm just cranky and venting.. lol

I know you're not arguing. We discuss here. That's what we do. I've seen Staal and Cole skate harder and get back faster than I have the entire season. They've dug it out in the corner and they've hit people. As long as Jersey has their strongest and best players against our top line, we're going to have to count on the 2nd and 3rd lines being the scorers. Where our top line could be better is to shut down Jersey's top guys better. If our top line cancels out their top line then....

Yeah, if Jersey can shut down our first line then we should be able to shut down theirs (when they are matched up). At least thats how it should work...and it hasn't been done so far this series.
Oh, and how bout a lead in the series...that would be REALLY helpful. We can't keep letting Parise score the first goal every single game. That isn't going to end up working...so hopefully we can get a lead and play with a lead instead of worrying about catching up we can worry about making that lead bigger.

I'm going to side with the Eric/k's and Ru here. Have they been great? No. But they have been working and incredibly hard in my opinion. NOBODY but #30 was good in Game 1 so throw that out. I sit just behind the goal and I saw a LOT of Erik Cole in front of the net last night with Staaly and Tuomo to a lesser degree. They are digging in corners and hitting and skating. Cole has the tendency to skate really fast and then fall down or crash into things but he does that all the time. LOL. That's just Erik. NJ is doing a good job of defending them. I do believe I asked someone when Erik Cole got a growth that looked like Patrick Elias on his back. Same thing for Eric and Colin White. They've got to play through it, yes. And I believe they will.
Joe had bad bounces, Babs had bad bounces (the winning goal was off his skate), they all did. It's over. Go regroup and win tomorrow night. My only request is Tim Conboy or Dennis Seidenberg back in the lineup because we need grit and toughness and we need it fast.

Erik has a bad habit of taking off up the wing and trying to go through the defensemen. I don't have to be able to see the games to know that's what's happening. If he would learn that he can go around them by using his speed, he would be a lot more deadly.

Game 4 here we come...we need to win this game.
My keys to the game:
Better PP- We aren't going to win a game going 0-fer. Enter the zone on the rush and actually cycle the puck down low.
Don't take so many stupid penalties- Really guys? Really? We can't keep playing almost a whole period on the PK. Calm down and control your body and stick.
Defensive zone coverage- This is both the actual defense and the forwards getting back. We need to be aware of the puck, the opposing players, our own players, and where the net is. If the forwards get caught in the offensive zone and NJ gets an odd man rush the other way, someone needs to get back. Don't get a line change, skate your butt off and get to the other end.
Offensive production- The first line needs to find a way to break out and get some production. And if not, we need our second and third lines to break out themselves. We had good secondary production in Game 3, now if we can keep that up AND get 1st line production we'd be good.
Parise's line- Good gosh, someone shut down this line. I don't care who does or how they do it (without taking stupid penalties), just do it.
Dedication. Detirmination. Desire.

I echo Jazz.. Dedication. Determination. Desire. That was our soccer motto thing last year. The year before it was like "I believe. I believe in myself. I believe in my teammates. I believe in my team." Or something similar to that. My soccer coach was cool...

HOLY MOLY people! HO-LY MO-LY! Talk about a game of extremes!! Cheers to tears back to cheers and I was shaking sooooo bad at the end that I couldn't even work my phone and it exploded with texts and email. LOL
Curl, we are in Marty's head and I just hope it's the "oh hell" in his head and not the "I'm pissed and going to stop everything" in his head.
Something that I'm sure won't get much mention but I have to say it because, well, I love him - How about Corvo's work on Parise all night? Good job Joe!!
