Well for some odd reason I don't see signing a body part nearly as strange as signing a cell phone battery! LMAO.. I give Jazz an "A" for originality!

Eh, the only names I would *ever* get tattoed on myself are my kids. Some "ideas" just aren't that smart... LOL

Awww... Ruu loves us as much as we love him. *sigh*
Quote: Ruutu hopes to stay with Canes
Submitted by chipalexander on 04/03/2009 - 17:14 Tags: Canes Now | Tuomo Ruutu Canes fans seem to appreciate Tuomo Ruutu and his sometimes rambunctious, often entertaining brand of hockey. When he controls the puck or smacks somebody into the boards at the RBC Center, there is the "R-UUUUU" rumble from the stands.
And guess what? Ruutu likes it here, too. A restricted free agent after the season, he made it clear this week that he hopes to stay with this team, in this city.
"I feel like it's home here," he said. "It was a big change coming from Chicago, but right away I felt like I came home.
"This season I realized it — that it's a great place to live and to play, as well."
Ruutu's happiness shows on and off the ice. Traded by the Chicago Blackhawks to the Canes last year for forward Andrew Ladd, Ruutu has a career-high 24 goals and 51 points this season playing on the top line with Eric Staal and now Erik Cole.
Ruutu, 26, has four game-winning goals, the last against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday in the Canes' 2-1 victory in Newark. He also leads the Canes with 219 hits.
"After a couple of tough seasons (in Chicago), I kind of realized this is one of the last chances I might have," Ruutu said. "I knew I had to take advantage of it.
"I tried to work even harder and get back to where I've been before, and become an even better player. I knew I had to get the best out of myself, to get ice time and to stay in the league."
Ruutu, a native of Vantaa, Finland, signed a one-year deal with the Canes worth $2.25 million last June. Reply With Quote

that's good. he resigned my phone since his signature was barely visible anymore. i told him about the % of penalties the finns have taken (they all laughed) but for tuomo i added that it was largely in part to him. (i am really depressed that no one wanted to know what those numbers were).

I used to be a math geek so hopefully it's just like riding a bike and I will remember it. LOL And can I just say that I LURVE me some Ruuu? Okay, you guys already know that....just need to get Ray to convince Ruu that he likes cougars too.....

Okay, I'll bite...explain your math. I used to be a math geek so hopefully it's just like riding a bike and I will remember it. LOL woo hoo. its not much math at all though, just stats stuff and it took like 10 minutes to figure out (i had to go though the game recaps of the past 25 games). ANYWAY. read below. The Canes have used 30 skaters this year, and there are 3 finns, meaning that they are 10% of the skaters. Which theorectically means that they should account for 10% of the penalties. So the Canes have 751 PIM this year (assuming the nhl doesn't just add someone's PIM if they are traded to that team), and the finns have 143 of those. So if you take the whole season into account, the finns have taken 19% of our penalties. That number wasn't interesting enough for me, so I decided I should figure out how much of the penalties the finns are responsible for since Jussi has joined us (25 games). So I went through all of the game recaps from the last 25 games to see how many PIM we had compared to the number of PIM the finns had. So in the last 25 games, the finns have been responsible for 25.4% of our penalties. So since there are 21 skaters, and 3 finns, they are 14% of the team on a regular game night, so they should be responsible for 14% of the penalties whereas they are responsible for almost double that. That is a lot for 3 people... I just thought that stat was interesting. And they all seemed to enjoy it, which was nice. I told them that 25% was too much...and for Tuomo when I said that it was largely in part to him, my dad ruined it by immediately saying that if we keep winning, we don't care...but eventually it will cost us. Maybe they'll think about my little stat before tomorrow's game/if they are about to take a penalty. :] that was probably way more explination than anyone wanted (and i didn't say nearly that much to them, hahha).

LMAO. Knowing me, I'd ramble on and blubber incoherently and tell them every little detail like that. I remember my friend and I getting a picture with Tuomo and as soon as the picture was about to be taken, the camera shut off on it's own. I was heckled by all the people around me as my friend was trying to fix the stupid thing. Because I felt awful and absolutely embarrassed that I was keeping him from signing other things, I turned to him and said, "So, how's it going?" to pass the time. Yeahhh... favorite hockey player in the whole entire world and what do I say? "So, how's it going?" Luckily, he smiled his Ruu-smile and replied, "Good, you?" Definitely one of the most intelligent conversations I've ever had with anyone. It seems that every time I get his autograph on something, I say something completely idiotic.

Has anyone else ever wondered if any of the players has ever made a list of the strangest things he's ever signed?

Probably.
Speaking of signing body parts, there was a guy back in '06 who got all the players to sign his leg and then got them tattoo'd. Most of the team actually did it.
