I think I'd better bring extra tissues for the game tomorrow night... my Mother passed away from it, & my Grandmother had to deal w/ it & had two seperate masectomies. It's gonna be an emotional night for me...

That is such a cool thing for them to do. Not only does it raise money but also awareness.

LOL, forget the splits - I'd love to see us be able to chase him out of the net like we did in game 1 of our series w/ them last May. Now THAT was funny! Happy birthday there, martin!!! I HATE the Devils and Brodeur so that game was super-awesome. I was half-watching it while cooking and I was making the biggest ass of myself at home ... alone. I was singing Vacation Bible School songs –- namely, “I’ve got joy! joy! joy! joy! Down in my heart!” -– and dancing like a four-year-old every time we scored. I even left a similar obnoxious voicemail on my friend's cellphone because she wasn't able to watch the game and shares my hatred of the Devils. It was so obnoxious, she had to play it for her friend. =.)

We sale pink Lightning hats through the foundation here and all the money goes to breast cancer research at Moffitt (our big cancer hospital here). We did the stick thing last year too. I wonder when they will do it again.

Did anyone see John's interview during pregame (for those of one guys at the game, hopefully you taped it). His jock strap was hanging right behind. I can't remember what he said cause I was paying more attention to that. ;D

I can't remember what he said cause I was paying more attention to that. ;D I can help you re-focus. As I've mentioned, my friend A sometimes helps her hubby J cover the Canes, which includes going into the locker room for post-game interviews. She has no love for Mark Messier because he was a bit of an ass. If I recall correctly, he apparently felt he didn't have time to do the interviews, so he just started stripping down in front of the reporters and then tossed his jock into this bin as he walked to the showers. My friend realized there was something odd about this and she kind of leaned over to look in the bin and it was the whole team's jocks and there was no way to tell which jock belonged to which guy. So that jock hanging behind Crackers tonight might be his tonight's, but it could have been Tanabe's the other night or Big Joe's last week.

My Aunt is battleing it now and shes doing good but shes stage 4 and keeps on having set backs.( She beat it earlier in her life and lost 1 breast to it)We really support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and other various brest research places and I hope ALL the Canes Gals will too! Its really awsome that they are doing that!

Yeah, when she told me the story, she totally had her nose wrinkled up and this very sour expression on her face as she pretended to lean over to link in the bin.

Watched the game on FSN (finally got to see a game!!!) and it was amazing to watch. We rooted for the Canes, of course, but I still have to say that Brodeur is one of the best goalies out there. Some of those saves he made were unbelievable. So yes, I'm definitely a Caniac and I want the team to win every game, but I still enjoy watching a top notch goaltender at work. So feel free to throw the bricks when you're ready

Komen Foundation and other various brest research places and I hope ALL the Canes Gals will too! Its really awsome that they are doing that! Aww, damn, sadie. I'm really sorry to hear that she's having to fight this crap a second time. The Koman Fondation was something my Mother supported as well while she was fighting hers, & they really do some great work, not only in research but also w/ the woman literally fighting for their lives & also helping the families of these women cope w/ it themselves & help their loved lady support-wise. Both times my Granny's was caught early on (obviously), but my Mom knew about the lump & knew what it could be, but just didn't go to get it diagnosed until it was already at stage 4. My Mother wasn't exactly a strong woman, but she was very strong-willed, & even w/ it as a stage 4, she fought w/ it for almost a year, incl. helping Habitat For Humanity building houses, until she passed. I miss my Mother & Grandmother horribly, & I was right - being down at the glass for pregame warmups & seeing most of the team w/ the pink sticks (& both John & Craig had different sticks that were mostly white but had the pink ribbon inlaid on them) was extremely emotional for me, & I had tears in my eyes for most of those 15 min. Please give my very best wishes & **HUGS** from me to your aunt, & tell her that someone here in NC is keeping her in their thoughts & hopes that she's successful in beating this again. Peace to you all there, & to any others of us on here that have lost someone from breast cancer or that has a loved one fighting & living w/ it now.
